The New Democratic Spirit declared that yesterday’s parliamentary session for lifting the immunity was a game of the Democratic and Socialist Parties.
For Gazmend Oketa, the Prime Minister’s idea of having a referendum was just for public consumption. He declared once again that he will vote in favor of the immunity lifting.
“Whenever the Albanian Parliament gathers to vote the immunity lifting, the nDS vote will be in favor. On the other hand I will emphasize that unfortunately, the Albanian citizens saw an eight hour long ugly show between the two old political forces, the Democratic and Socialist parties, which held a debate that brought no result. Only two weeks ago, the same forced found the consensus to vote the Electoral Code, by violating the Constitutional amend and vote equality. I don’t think that this referendum will ever be held. It was just a bluff that had to push the political debate and for making the parties start a new fight regarding the candidate status and to remove the attention from the real problems of the Albanians”, Oketa declared.
