Zugleich ermahnt die General Staatsanwältin die unabhängigen Staatsanwälte, mit dem neuen Anti - Mafia Gesetz (sobald es in Kraft tritt), was die Beschlagnahme von Vermögen, vor allem Immobilien Vermögen angeht, vorsichtig zu sein.

US Ambassador to Albania John L Withers praised the work of Albania’s General Prosecutor Ina Rama on Monday, underlining her integrity in the face of political pressure from both the opposition and the government.

“General Prosecutor Ina Rama has exhibited dedication and commitment in protecting the integrity and the independence of her office,” said Withers during a meeting with Rama in the Tirana prosecutor’s office.

“She has shown professionalism and devotion in the face of a great many obstacles,” Withers added.

General Prosecutor Ina Rama has come under fire constantly since her appointment in November 2007, by both the government of Prime Minister Sali Berisha and the opposition, after launching high profile probes against the highest echelons of power.

According to Withers, the general prosecutor has faced attacks from both political groups, often published in the media, which “criticised her just because she was doing her job.”

Although noting that a prosecutor’s job is not easy anywhere, Withers underlined that Albania’s “archaic” legal system of immunity for politicians has made Rama’s job particularly difficult.

TIRANË- Ambasadori amerikan, John Withers ka vlerësuar punën e bërë nga kryeprokurorja Ina Rama, duke pohuar se ajo është ndeshur me presione politike në të dy kahet.

Gjatë një takimi në Prokurorinë e Tiranës, me pjesëmarrjen e një delegacioni të Task Forces malazeze, Withers ka dhënë sinjale të qarta për politikën, të lërë gjyqësorin në punën e vetë të pavarur.

Konkretisht, ai ka përmendur pengesat që i janë shfaqur Ramës lidhur me imunitetin, duke i cilësuar pengesat në tërësi të shfaqura në punën e saj nga politika, “me qëllim për të anuar nga ana tjetër".
